The custom pickups designed by Bill Lawrence created an “in your face” sound that was popular across many musical genres. With Huggins marketing the guitars, these instruments found their way into a number of popular musicians’ hands and well-known bands. Some include: Johnny Cash, Statler Brothers, Tommy Cash and the Tom Cats, Buddy Merrel on the Lawrence Welk Show, Del Reeves, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr. Lew DeWitt, Carl Perkins, Marshall Grant, Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Mike and the Mechanics, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, and Dave Fielding of the Chameleons.
